After School Club- Football

boys footballharpfield

The Football Club meets on Mondays and is a very popular club with members from across Key Stage 2.  It provides training opportunities for all those taking part and we select players from the club to represent the school in matches.

The football team have made massive progress this year and have represented Harpfield with pride. The players have shown super effort and commitment whilst learning to play as a team within the spirit of the game. They have taken huge strides since losing 5-0 in their opening game at St Theresa’s and went on to put up a good show in the Harpfield 7 a-side tournament and were unfortunate not to reach the semi final.
At the turn of the year they represented Harpfield at Rowley Park in Stafford after qualifying for the finals of the Staffordshire schools 7 a-side tournament. They were the sole representative for Stoke schools and had a fantastic day reaching the semi final losing narrowly to eventual winners Brewood.
The confidence they gained helped them to overcome Park Hall to reach the quarter finals of the Stoke on Trent schools Cup where they were narrowly beaten by St Anne’s.
Overall the team have done remarkably well against some far bigger schools and I know that everyone connected with Harpfield is very proud of not only their achievements this year, but the way in which they have carried themselves representing the school.

Well Done!!!!!
